Common Ground Alliance
³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø has long been involved in the Common Ground Alliance and active on the issue of underground damage prevention. The Common Ground Alliance (CGA) is a member-driven association dedicated to ensuring public safety, environmental protection, and the integrity of services by promoting effective damage prevention practices. Officially formed in 2000, the CGA has evolved into a group of over 1,400 individual members, 180 member organizations, and 44 sponsors (including ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø) that is the leading organization in an effort to reduce damages to all underground facilities in North America through shared responsibility among all stake holders. In 2007, CGA successfully spearheaded an effort in Congress to create a national ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø was a national partner in this effort and the subsequent launch. Now excavators anywhere can dial 811 to be connected to the local One-Call Center of jurisdiction.
