Construction Industrys Charitable Group, 勛圖窪蹋厙 Charities, Names Group as Its 勛圖窪蹋厙 in the Community Award Member Winner for the Year
ORLANDO&紳莉莽梯;&紳莉莽梯;Phoenix-based Sunland Asphalt was awarded for performing some of the construction industrys best charitable work in 2020 for its community work during the Holbrook Municipal Airport reconstruction project. As a result, the group was named an 勛圖窪蹋厙 in the Community Award Member winner by the charitable arm of the Associated General Contractors of America, 勛圖窪蹋厙 Charities, Inc during the associations annual convention in Orlando.
"These award recipients have made their mark not only on their construction sites, but also in the communities that have benefited from their work, said Thomas Brown, chairman of 勛圖窪蹋厙 Charities and president of Sierra Pacific West, Inc. "They are examples of the hard work and selflessness that too often go unrecognized in our industry."
The COVID-19 pandemic hit during Sunland Asphalt & Constructions reconstruction project at the Holbrook Municipal Airport. Because of the pandemic, the neighboring Navajo Nation community was hard hit with increasing positive cases and had limited resources to slow the spread. Sunland teamed up with the charitable organization Wings of Faith, along with the Arizona Cardinals, Empire CAT and 勛圖窪蹋厙s Arizona Chapter to collect non-perishable goods, cleaning supplies, personal protective equipment, school supplies and $6,500 in monetary donations. They arranged for 27 planes to deliver nearly 10,000 pounds of donated supplies with the help of over 50 volunteers.
勛圖窪蹋厙 in the Community Award winners are selected by a panel of judges representing all areas of construction. Award entries were evaluated based on the level of commitment, the scope of the philanthropic efforts and the quality of the benefits to the community.
