As previously reported, ԹϺ is concerned that changes proposed by the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) could complicate and prolong the approval of infrastructure projects, jeopardizing the potential benefits of recent legislative acts. On September 29, ԹϺ joined 25 other industry groups in opposing CEQ’s proposed changes to the rules that implement the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Total construction spending increased by 0.5 percent in August, driven by increases in most large nonresidential construction segments in addition to residential projects, according to an analysis of federal spending data the Associated General Contractors of America released today. On September 19, the Department of Labor (DOL) announced that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) awarded approximately $12.7 million in grants to 100 non-profit organizations across the nation to support education and training to help workers and employers recognize serious workplace hazards, employ injury prevention and understand workers' rights and employers' responsibilities under federal law.

In a continued commitment to bridging academia and industry, the Robert L. Bowen Industry Residency program, a partnership between educational institutions, ԹϺ contractors, and the ԹϺ Education and Research Foundation, has seen remarkable success since its inception in 2011.
