We are excited to announce the opening of the 2024 Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Assessment, a resource designed exclusively for construction firms. This tool empowers companies to establish a baseline, measure progress, and celebrate successes in their D&I programs, policies, and practices.

Chicagoland ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø’s CLC hosted a beach cleanup on Thursday, May 23rd as part of the Alliance for the Great Lakes’ Adopt-a-Beach program. The group’s young professionals gathered on the shores of Lake Michigan at Chicago’s iconic Oak Street Beach where they collected 306 pounds of litter in 40 trash bags.

Meet Jamie!Jamie has been working in client development roles in blue collar industries for over 24 years. Her degree is in Welding Technologies. She started her career as a pipe fitter, welding large OD, flat to be rolled pipe. She then moved to a marketing and sales role. Jamie is energized by the pride that crafts people feel when a job is done well. The reality is that many tradespeople that do fantastic work do not take the time to let others know about what they do. That is where Jamie has found a career in helping clients connect with firms that provide quality work. Jamie is currently working at Terracon. Terracon is a national consulting engineering firm that specializes in geotechnical, geophysics, environmental and materials testing / special inspections. A good foundation is essential to any project.

Meet Jeff Forbes, your ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø of America 2024 – 2025 Building Division ChairJeff Forbes, a long-time regional director for one of Beck Group's biggest markets in Dallas, TX, recently began his term as the Building Division Chair at ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø of America. Forbes has built an impressive career in vertical construction. His portfolio is diverse, with projects spanning Hi-rise, healthcare, higher education, churches, and mixed-use developments. But it is not just the buildings that stand tall; Forbes' commitment to professional growth for all and industry advancement is equally towering. He is excited to lead as the Building Division Chair to encourage innovation and engage with all building contractors to make their voices heard on the national level.

Meet Anthony, Chair of the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø Construction Leadership Committee (CLC)!Anthony has over 17 years of leadership responsibility with Pepper Construction. His experience includes working on some the companies most high-profile and complex institutional projects designed by world-renowned architects David Chipperfield and Studio Gang Architects. Recent projects include the expansion of the Saint Louis Art Museum, the expansion and renovation of the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, and the Great Apes Exhibit at the Brookfield Zoo. In addition to these projects, he has worked in many markets including high-end retail, hospitality, historic renovations, and higher education. As Director, he oversees project teams throughout the entire construction process from preconstruction through building turnover. Anthony continues to support his alma mater as a member of the Iowa State University Industry Advisory Council for Construction Engineering. Anthony is the Chair of the Construction Leadership Committee for the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø of America.

The ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø Education and Research Foundation is committed to the growth, development, and encouragement of field research initiatives to enhance the education of construction management students. In support of this vision, the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø Foundation commissions case studies that will provide today's construction management students the tools to build the industry's future. Cases written by faculty-contractor teams are based on actual experience and provide students with the opportunity to work through issues in a classroom setting.
